Canberra lockdown – update 28 August
There have been 26 new cases of COVID-19 recorded in the ACT to 8pm yesterday. If these, 20 are linked to known cases or ongoing clusters, 15 were in quarantine during their infectious period, 7 were in the community for part of their infectious period and 4 are being assessed.
There are now 233 active cases associated with this outbreak, after 4 cases recovered.
There are 10 patients in ACT hospitals, including 1 receiving intensive care support and ventilation.
Canberra exposure locations
As of 9am this morning, ACT Health is working with over 1,800 people who have self-identified as close contacts of ACT outbreaks.
We have 214 current exposure locations listed. Please keep an eye on the website.
Canberra COVID-19 testing
A total 2,937 tests were collected across both Government and Capital Pathology sites.
AIS Arena to speed up ACT vaccine program
More Canberrans will be able to access a COVID-19 vaccination with the AIS Arena set to open as our next mass vaccination clinic on Friday, 3 September.
The AIS Arena will replace the mass vaccination clinic at the Garran Surge Centre and will be able to deliver 24,000 vaccines a week - a significant increase.
