Working together for Canberra

The commitment to develop a National Capital Investment Framework between the ACT Government and the Commonwealth is a significant milestone for Canberra.

It will deliver the infrastructure projects that our growing city needs - ensuring that Canberrans finally get their fair share.

It’s a commitment that Canberrans can be excited about. It’s the result of ACT Labor MLAs, MPs and our Senator working together to deliver for Canberrans.

It demonstrates the value of Labor Governments at both Territory and Federal levels, working together for the benefit of our community.

The Framework builds off the work that is already underway between our two Governments. From healthcare, infrastructure, skills and housing to more support for Canberra with the cost of living – we have a bold and ambitious agenda for our city’s future.

And it comes on top of the commitments the Albanese Labor Government has already made to Canberra – more funding for light rail, cheaper childcare, the protection of the national cultural institutions and 2500 fee-free TAFE places.

The Prime Minister, the ACT Labor team in Parliament House, and the ACT Labor team in the Legislative Assembly share a vision for the future of the National Capital - and we will keep delivering for Canberrans.
